The results are in from the Congregation Council regarding the same-sex marriage survey.

The St. Paul’s Congregation Council has reviewed the results of the June 19, 2014 same sex marriage questionnaire as delineated below:
Total questionnaires completed 172
Members in favor of council’s resolution 104
Members opposed to council’s resolution 43
Members who “agree to disagree” 10
Members who “agree to disagree” and
would request further research with
other committed Christians 2
Members who would request further research 3
with other committed Christians
Members whose views could not be determined
due to conflicting multiple responses 10
Based on the results of the same sex marriage survey, the congregation supports the Council’s February 20 resolution by more than a 2 to 1 margin. (CC-9 Council and Committee Workings 2/20/2014 A motion was made that St. Paul’s Lutheran Church be an inclusive congregation and believes that same sex couples in a committed, monogamous relationship be allowed to be married by the pastor in the church. Motion was made, 2nd and Approved on 2/20/14)
