THANKSGIVING LITANY
For hot showers in the morning, four walls and a roof that provide warmth against the cold.
Work that gives us purpose, provides for our families, and creates abundance that makes us generous.
Teachers who patiently help us with our math, and mentors who keep us on the right paths.
Neighbors who shovel snow off sidewalks before we awaken, and employers whose hearts are greater than their profits.
Pets who bounce us awake early in the day and curl up with us for sleep at night.
For good friends who will tell us the truth that we don’t want to hear.
For parents who challenge us to give our best and hold us accountable.
For playful grandparents who spoil us and always see the best in us.
For times of carefree joy and celebration,
And for dark times that taught us painful but valuable lessons.
For freedom and dignity and the wealth of blessings that God has showered on our nation.
For love, companionship, fellowship and community which sustains us and upholds us.
For the riches and blessings, abundance and generosity of our God we give our thanks and praise.
We worship you, O God, with lives of generous giving and sharing and a pledge “to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with you” (Micah 6:8).
