To All the Youth of St. Paul’s;
Good Morning. Recently the parents of our youth group members met to discuss some ideas to facilitate the whole Youth Group experience. I would love to meet with any young people who are able to come on Sunday, December 9, immediately following worship. Leah Seleman, who is the Council liaison for Youth, and I will meet with any who can attend to go over some ideas we hope will meet with your approval.
I expect this meeting to be a brief one. The central item will be the naming of the officers who will be responsible for the organization and running of the meetings. We hope to have you choose a President, a Vice President, and a Secretary. This does not in any way suggest that those who have been doing these jobs should be replaced; it only means that it is important to us that you have folks who really want to do these duties feeling well supported in doing them. Please give thought to whether you would like to do them, or who you think would be good, or whether you’d be willing to share them.
The President typically creates an agenda (with input from others), and runs the meetings. The VP does these things if the President is unable to do so, like during vacations, illness, etc. The Secretary takes notes and sends them out to the members. Any of these jobs can be shared in various ways, if they are too burdensome for an individual.
The other item is the meeting time. We’ll briefly discuss whether the present first Tuesday 7 pm time is the best for the most of our youth. Please think about that ahead of time.
If you are unable to make this meeting, but would like input on these issues, please let me know before Sunday. I look forward to working with you all God’s peace,
Pr. Scott Cady
