Email scam WARNING

This afternoon, one of St. Paul’s parishioners received an email that seemed as though it was from Pastor Cady asking for gift cards. Luckily the person checked with him before doing anything and found out it was not him who sent the e-mail. We just wanted people to be aware that this happened and that the e-mail came from this e-mail address: “Rev. Scott Cady” <pastoralsaints751@gmail.com> This person is pretending to be Pastor in order to get gift cards. This is the request of the scammer:

I want you to help me get a Google Play gift card worth $300 at $100 or $50 denominations for a friend of mine going through cancer in the hospital. She needs the cards to download her favorite musics and videos to boost her confidence on her next phase of surgery and fight over cancer which She’s going to undergo today but i can’t do this now.   Let me know if you can help me with this? God bless”

If you receive this e-mail or one like it, please do not fall victim to it and let the office know as we want to know if this one person was targeted or if it is a bigger issue. Thank you!
