WorkCamp
A busy weekend at St. Paul’s!
- Car show is scheduled for Saturday afternoon from 4 to 8 pm. Following the Farmer’s Market no one should park in our church parking lot. Cars going on exhibit will begin coming in by mid afternoon. Entry to the car show is free for spectators and a $10 entry for each show car. The youth will have the food to sell-hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, BriCin’s fried dough pizza, and lots of cold beverages to keep you hydrated. There will be trophy awards, a 50/50 drawing, as well as a drawing of Prizes that have been donated. Please come and support St. Paul’s.
- Beginning at 9am on Sunday we will gather in the fellowship hall for a breakfast prepared by fellowship committee chief cooks! Breakfast casseroles, egg dishes, French Toast casserole, etc. The breakfast is free and open to all members as we honor Elizabeth Goehring, our seminary student who is completing her time with us at St. Paul’s. Elizabeth jumped right in to her experience by meeting folks, participating in many actual services-preaching 3 times, lectoring, communion assisting, visiting SS classrooms, etc. Congregants have been given opportunity for contributing to a monetary gift for Elizabeth. That will be presented before breakfast. Obviously with a big breakfast before church there will no coffee hour following church.
- A Baby picture(s)! The box should be full by now but there is still plenty of room for photos of you and your family. Please bring a picture(s) this Sunday! St. Paul’s Women will hostess a “mock Baby shower” after church on Sunday, August 18th that is free and open to all members and friends. It is meant to be a fun celebration of each of us. Please plan to stay and celebrate!

We hope everyone has stayed safe during this last week of horrible heat and humidity. After storms today, forecasters are predicting a lovely weekend with temps in the 80’s and little to no humidity. Pastor Cady has been fielding many questions of late about when we will do outdoor worship. Well, … it appears that Sunday is the day! Bring a lawn chair and plan to enjoy the great outdoors as we worship in His Creation! The service will be a traditional one with few modifications. Come and Sing a Song to the Lord!
Plan is for WorkCampers to leave the church shortly after 9:00 am on Sunday morning. If you wish to see the group of twenty youth and adults off, come early. Chaperones and youth, alike, will be anxious to get on the road to head to New Berlin, NY, a trip of about 4 hours plus stops. If you wish to keep track of our young ambassadors, you can log onto www.reachwc.org to see pictures of campers throughout the week. Pictures are usually posted the day after – thus, WorkCamp arrival pictures taken Sunday will be posted on Monday.
