- Altar Guild: Prepares the altar for worship each week.
- Christian Education: Oversees all educational opportunities for children from baptism through confirmation, and encourages adult learning through two weekly Bible studies. Meets on the 1st Monday of most months.
- Church Council: The Church Council provides spiritual and administrative leadership for the congregation. It oversees the mission, ministry, and management of the church, ensuring that all activities align with its vision, faith, and goals. Members are elected by the congregation to serve a 3 year term. Meets on the 2nd Monday of the month.
- Congregational Care: Provides support to members of St. Paul’s who are dealing with illness or surgery. Services may include meals (organized through MealTrain), transportation, or shopping.
- Eucharistic Ministry: Provides communion and companionship to our sick or homebound members.
- Evangelism: A ministry of witness that spreads the Gospel of Jesus Christ and invites people to consider joining our congregation in praise of God and service to our neighbors.
- Family Ministry: Encourages participation of all youth in activities and invites them to bring friends along.
- Fellowship: Organizes and prepares meals several times each year to promote fellowship and community among St. Paul’s members and guests.
- Fundraising: Coordinates the development and implementation of fundraising initiatives and events.
- Finance: Keeps the Church Council and congregation informed of the church’s financial status. Investigates grant possibilities. Collects and compiles budget requests from committees and prepares the annual church budget for review and approval by the Church Council and congregation. Meets the 1st Wednesday of the month.
- Garden of Memories: Maintains a sacred place of peace and prayer where the ashes of loved ones rest in the care of God’s creation. A place where we can reflect in quiet gratitude.
- Hilltop Early Learning Center: Advises, guides, and supports the Hilltop Director in planning and decision-making. Meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month, via Zoom
- IT/Website: Oversees and supports all church technology, including computers, internet, website, streaming the services, and email systems. Meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month via Zoom.
- Property: Maintains the church building and grounds, ensuring that facilities remain clean, safe, and uncluttered. Meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month.
- Puppettude: Shares the Word of God with the community through puppets, music, and drama. Currently on hiatus.
- Safety: Schedules and provides training to help members respond effectively to emergencies that may arise in congregational life.
- Scholarship: Chooses recipients of the many scholarships offered annually by St. Paul’s. Meets in April/May.
- Social Concerns: Helps the congregation become a community of service by building relationships both within our congregation and with local social service agencies
- Soup Kitchen: Has two teams that serve at the Community Kitchen of Torrington, located in the basement of Trinity Church, on the second Sunday of every month.
- Staff Support: Checks in with staff to make sure everything is running smoothly. A Council-appointed committee.
- Stewardship: Promotes financial stewardship among members of the church.
- St. Paul's Women of the ELCA: A fellowship of women that meets to grow in faith, affirm their gifts, and support one another. Meets the 4th Monday of most months.
- Worship & Music: Makes recommendations to the Council regarding worship and plans details of services, both regular and special. Meets on 2nd or 3rd Thursday of the month.
- Worship Assistance:
- Assisting Minister – Leads prayers and readings during the service.
- Communion Assistants – Helps serve communion during Sunday service.
- Slide Manager – Advances slides during the service on the TV screens.
- Ushers – Assists in Sunday services by collecting the offering, assisting members during communion, and maintaining order throughout the service.
